Tourist Visa (L Visa) Business Visa (F Visa)
Issued to foreigners who enter China temporarily for touring, family visiting or other personal affairs. Single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry are all available for tourists. The duration of (each) stay is 30-90 days. Multiple-entry is now under strict control and may only be issued to US passport holder who had obtained at least one Chinese visa in the past. Issued to foreigners who are invited to China for business visit, research, lecture, scientific, technological and cultural exchanges. Single-entry, double-entry, multiple-entry business visa are available. The duration of (each) stay is 30-90 days. Multiple-entry is now under strict control and may only be issued to US passport holder who had obtained at least one Chinese visa in the past.

Work Visa (Z visa) Student Visa (X/F Visa)
Issued to foreigners who are to take up a post or employment in China, and their accompanying family members. Only single entry work visa is available. Work visa holder is required by law to register with local authority in China within 30 days of arrival. At that moment, work visa will be changed to Residence Permit, which allows for multiple exit and entry.
Issued to foreigners who come to China for study or intern practice for a period of six months or above. Student visa is usually issued for single entry only. The duration of stay varies. X visa will be issued to those who are required to study for 10 months or more. F visa will be issued to those who are required to study for less than 10 months
